WHY EXTRA EPA AND DHA INTAKE FOR VEGANS?

The Omega-6/Omega-3-balance is fundamentally disturbed.

Vegan foods contain too many Omega-6 fatty acids, mainly derived from plant food and vegetable oils, Flaxseeds, chia seeds, walnuts, edamame, and certain vegetable oils that are even low in the omega-3 fat alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). The body tries to produce both EPA and DHA from ALA. The results are not sufficient. Only 0.2% to 8% of the ALA consumed is converted into EPA and a mere 0.05% (or less) into DHA. Hence a daily supplementation with a minimum of 500 mg EPA+DHA is typically indicated.

Algae oil rTG concentrate (DHA and EPA rich oil from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp), humectant: glycerol, modified corn starch, gelling agent: carrageenan, antioxidants: a mix of rosemary and tocopherol rich extract, acidity regulator: sodium carbonate

Daily dose of 1 softgel contains:

concentrated triglyceride algae oil ( 80% omega-3): 1000 mg

Take one softgel daily with food or as advised by your physician.
